Beth Newberry and her husband Rusty are members of a writing group.  At our Morning Prayer and Bible Conversation this week, Beth shared the following “Words to Live By” that she had written earlier in the week.  I asked her if it was ok to share her thoughts with you.  Here they are…

Kindness, empathy, understanding.  There are words and ways of being that are    beneficial to mankind – to animals and our planet as well for that matter.  Caring, giving, inspiring, optimistic, respectful – words we use to describe a person that we  usually enjoy being around.

Honesty, straightforwardness, truthfulness, integrity, selflessness, puts country before  self – these are words to describe what we would like to see in our leaders.

There are traits in human beings that lift us up, help us see the future with more   hope and joy.  I would add the ability to listen and the ability or effort to put yourself in another’s shoes.

Just envision a world where we all strive towards those attributes in our relationships, in our families, in our neighborhoods, towns, governments, international relations. There would be no reason for wars, for anger or jealousy.  What a wonderful world it would be.
