Bishop Goff has called a meeting April 24 for the purpose of voting to adopt the budget for 2021 for the Diocese of Virginia. You may recall that the budget was not adopted at the Annual Convention last November. Our delegate to the Annual Convention is Brett so we thank him for representing Christ Church, Lucketts at this upcoming meeting.

Your Lenten packets have been prepared. Some have been delivered by Natalie (along with Girl Scout cookies), Susan, Pattie, Jane, Damara and Betty. Some are in the mail. Some have been picked up by individuals.  Thanks to all persons who have helped make and deliver these packets

The Ash Wednesday service on February 17 at 7 pm is intended to be a family affair. I ask that you have the ashes that are in your packet available and your Book of Common Prayer handy. At a certain time in the service you will dip your thumb (the area behind/opposite the thumbnail) into the ashes. Make the sign of the cross on your forehead as I say, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Those words are on page 265 BCP. If there are others in your family whom you are imposing, please continue to do so as Psalm 51 (page 266 BCP) is being spoken.

Stay safe in the wintry weather that is forecast for the next few days and meditate on these words: “Live by faith while trusting the One who promises.”

Have a happy week and we’ll see you on Zoom Sunday at 9:30.
