I have found that a good way to start the day is by reading a Psalm. You find words of comfort, words of encouragement, words of hope, and, yes, words of lament. David wrote 73 Psalms. Asaph, known as a musician, wrote 12 and the Sons of Korah, are identified as the writers of 11. Korah was Moses’s cousin and his sons were a group of musicians. The remaining Psalms were written by Moses, Solomon and others. Psalm 9 (written by King David) begins with these words:
“I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all your marvelous worrks.
I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing to your Name, O Most High.”
A good way to start the day, huh?
Remember the Annual Meeting will take place immediately after worship this Sunday.
Have a blessed week.
