FORTY DAYS OF PRAYER—A CHRIST CHURCH PARISH-WIDE PROGRAM FOR LENT
What if during lent instead of giving up something, we added something to our life?
What if during lent every member of the parish agreed to pray more?
What if during lent every member of the parish agreed to pray at least once every day at the exact same time?
FORTY DAYS OF PRAYER is an all parish program to increase our personal and collective prayer and learn more about forms of Christian Prayer. During FORTY DAYS each of us commits to three forms of Lenten discipline:
• Beginning on Ash Wednesday we pledge to pray at least once during every day for peace, justice, relief for the poor and for those we love
• Every day during Lent, at 12 noon, we will recite the Lord’s Prayer together, wherever we are in silence or out loud with loved ones
• Twice during Lent we will come together at Church House for a parish pot luck supper and to learn about and practice different forms of Christian prayer
